The Story Behind This Song
King David said in Psalm 65, "Praise awaits you, our God, in Zion; to you, our vows will be fulfilled. You who answer prayer, to you all people will come". The king assured the Lord that when the Lord comes to Zion, Praise will be awaiting the Lord. This is a courageous declaration to make. What the king was essentially saying to God, It doesn't matter what happens in the other cities but whenever you come to Jerusalem, praise is awaiting you. It's an indication that King David lived a life of praise, and the Scriptures note that God is fearful of the praises of His people. God is indeed seeking worshippers, but what happens when a worshipper makes such a promise? God cannot help but visit the abode where praise is promised Him.
